FlashFictionRun Events!

Alright guys, things have calmed down some here, so TIME FOR REALLY SHORT STORIES. That's right, we're going to do another #FlashFictionRun! For those new to this--

What it is: Flash fiction is fiction written in as few words as possible.  This event is:

A) A challenge for yourself writers--can you do it?!?!?!

B) A great chance for some free exposure--all stories will be posted on the blog and spammed to death on Twitter, and

Rules are as follows:

1.  Alright, you guys did exceptionally well with the 700-word limit last time, so let's see what you do with 1,000! I'M GIVING YOU THREE HUNDRED MORE WORDS. Make good use of them!

2.  This time, the story can be about whatever you want. I'm not setting a genre or subject/topic, YOU decide. Keep it non-xxx, though! Sex scenes are fine as long as they aren't pornographic. I appreciate you, erotica writers, but we have to have a limit :)

3.  When you submit your story, please include your first and last name, story title, and links to any websites in the email (including Twitter handles!).  Please send all submissions to elise.valente@gmail.com with "Flash Fiction" in the subject line.

4.  Submissions will be accepted starting TOMORROW, JULY 17, and the deadline to submit will be MIDNIGHT YOUR TIME on JULY 23 WHEN EVERYONE GETS AROUND TO IT.  YOU WILL HAVE A WEEK, WHICH SHOULD BE PLENTY OF TIME. Submissions will not be accepted after July 23, unless you give me a really, really good bribe. I'm on Eastern Time, so if you're in a different time zone, let me know in the email.

5.  I will be posting submissions as I get them.  I will try to catch any spelling/grammar errors for you, but please be sure to spellcheck your submission because if I get a lot, I won't have time to edit them all.  But I will do my best.

6.  HAVE SUPER FUN WITH THIS. That's an order!

Our first #FlashFictionRun event was a great success!  Eight amazing stories by eight talented authors were submitted and posted for the world to see and enjoy!

If you weren't able to participate this time around, don't worry.  By request, another #FlashFictionRun event will be held after the first of the year.  Participation is open to all, so if you want to challenge yourself and get your work seen, get ready to do this next year!

In the meantime, check out the authors from our first event.  Show them some love for the great job they did!

  1. Elise, I've listened to the song, minus the lyrics and I really liked what I've heard so far. To me it sounds somewhat somber and reflects a bit of loneliness, perhaps some apprehension and would (depending upon the lyrics) fit so well with the opening scene in my first book where Gary Logan, alone in his parents home after their passing, feels his loneliness as well as his shock at the realization that the photograph proved something his mother had said decades earlier (that his father had had a tryst at the end of WW-II while he was stationed in Europe). The actual event is is what caused me (and my character in the book) to write the series. Would you please send me the completed song when you finish it? gog6692@msn.com And I hope you'll take some time to check out my series http://amzn.com/B006ZCBT6G http://amzn.com/B00A4IEHL6 & http://amzn.com/B00G5BQS18 all have "Immortal Relations" as the main title with ", Love and War" as #2 sub-title and "Coming Out" as #3 sub-title.
